Question from David:
My son is in 6th grade and wants to join next years football team. He is 12 but will turn 13 in September. Could he start your MP45 Program?
Answer from Jaret Grossman, Creator of MP45:
David,
Yes, he most definitely can start my program. It is very important to start learning this stuff from a young age because these principles will stay with him for life. Think about it like learning a new language. The best time to learn is when we are young due to how well we absorb information (like a sponge). This couldn’t be more true with learning the proper way to train and the proper way to eat to create the proper anabolic hormonal environment in our body so your son can build lean, healthy muscle and dominate on the football field. To make this concept a little clearer for you, I will tell you about myself. I wrestled in junior high school. I wasn’t any good. 2-14 my first year on varsity. It wasn’t until I was introduced to weightlifting that I started getting good. Long Island Champion, good. But there were many things I was doing wrong that I didn’t learn until college from several mentors including proper nutrition and the proper way to stimulate the muscle for growth, not annihilate it. That helped me become a 3x All-American wrestler in college. You can begin to see the functionality of all of it when it transferred to sports. I wasn’t athletically blessed or super talented in the sport to begin with but work ethic combined with the proper methodology will take you anywhere you want to go in this world.
When it comes down to it, there is an exact science to treat training and nutrition. By implementing the proper training and nutritional techniques, your son will be far ahead of his peers in terms of development because he will be doing it with the proper direction and methodology. Lifting weights does not stunt one’s growth. However, you must be careful to not let your son’s growth plates harden due to fracture. To make sure of this, your son needs to be extra careful when he is lifting weights and to never, ever go too heavy where injury can result. As I discuss in my program, lifting properly is all about form and connecting your mind with the muscle to allow it to grow. That is more important than the weight used.
I hope you make the decision to have your son join the thousands of success stories from my program. Best of luck to you two in all of your endeavors.
